Googles View on Article Marketing for SEO and Backlinks

Googles View on Article Marketing for SEO and Backlinks

A new video has been added to the Google Webmaster Help channel on Youtube by Matt Cutts which discusses his feelings, and conversely Google’s feelings, on the topic of basing your Backlink Building strategies around Article Marketing.

Remember that whenever you watch the videos from the Google Webmaster Help channel you really need to focus on a few key points. In this video, what I find very important is that he does make mention that Article Marketing is effective, but Google’s future is leaning towards a total outright hatred of duplicate content, and therefore may not be as effective in the future.

I also find it interesting that he says that sites going viral being shared among Social Networking and Bookmarking sites will provide a much more effective boost in Serp Rankings than backlinks from low quality blogs that are linking to you through copied articles. As always though, your best strategy is to seek links from all sources of the internet and use a strategy that is more random than anything, and keep trying to upload as much original content for your site as possible.

What Do You Need to Be #1 in Google

What Do You Need to Be #1 in Google

Most people start their SEO Journey with just 1 goal in mind. To be #1 in Google. Google is the Mecca of SERP Rankings, and reaching number 1 ranking can often mean that your set for life. The question people ask over and over, is “What Do I Need to Be #1 in Google?” The answer to that question is going to be a little bit different for each person, depending on the keyword they want to be ranked #1 for.

The main thing you do need to worry about is offering High Quality, Original content which users will find helpful or interesting. If they find the content to be of a High Quality, they will spend more time on the site, they will tell their friends about the site, and they will return to the site again. Google notices these things, especially when you have Google Analytics installed on your website, and Google will increase your ranking based on these actions.

The second most important thing is to have High Quality websites linking back to you. Most search engines will count how many websites have links built to your website, and they will rank you very highly if you do have many more backlinks than the other competing websites. You also need to be sure you have a variety of different types of websites linking back to your website. This is why it is very important to hire a company which provides Link Building Services.

The final most important thing your website will need to Rank #1 in Google is to have an Aged Website. A new website may rank highly when it is first introduced, but that ranking will usually fall back a bit if it is not constantly updated and does not have new backlinks built to it on a consistent basis. Search Engines need a certain amount of trust to put a website in the top position. If a website has been around for years, they are more likely to trust it, and give it the highest possible ranking. This means you can’t give up after only a few months. Keep dedicated to your one keyword, even if you start to get frustrated.

These 3 main factors are the keys to Search Engine Ranking Success.

Getting Quality Backlinks

Getting Quality Backlinks

Ignoring the debate of Quality versus Quantity, there is no doubt that getting Quality Backlinks is still a major goal for many website owners, and it is getting more and more difficult to do. There used to be days where you could just link swap with another High PR website, and then both of you would get an equal benefit from a Quality Backlink, but these days are no longer around. Google now ignores basic link swaps, and in some cases may decide to penalize you for it.

There really is only small handful of ways to get very high quality backlinks to your website, and the good thing is that most of them are free. The easiest way to get other sites to link back to you is to make sure you have a blog, and are constantly adding high quality, unique, informative posts. Even if your website is just an ecommerce site selling a flower delivery service, you can still have a basic blog which you make posts to at least once a week.

In addition to adding unique posts, you want to make sure you submit your blogs RSS feed to rss feed directories which will spread the word every time you make a new posting automatically. This will allow search engine spiders and also customers/visitors to know that you have new content they should come look at. When search engine spiders see your new content, they may really “enjoy” it, and naturally give you a high serp ranking based on the uniqueness and keywords used. When humans visitors come, they may like it so much, they will link to you in their own blogs and this will give you a free, high quality backlink.
